Trey Melford, MD
Dr. Melford completed his MD degree at the Washington University School of Medicine, in St. Louis, Missouri. He stayed in St. Louis for his Internship and Residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital on the Washington University School of Medicine Campus. He then moved to Seattle where he just completed a three-year Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Washington, School of Medicine.
Before beginning his Fellowship training, Dr. Melford was the attending Physician and Intensivist in the Trauma/Critical Care Unit at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. It was here that he honed his skills in the care and management of complex, critically ill patients and decided to pursue a career as a Cardiologist.
Dr. Melford is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Diseases. He has received numerous awards and distinctions from both his undergraduate and Medical School institutions. In addition, he was the first recipient of the Distinguished African American Student Scholarship award at Washington University Medical School in 1991. The scholarship provided full tuition for four years. His references from Residency and Fellowship are outstanding and repeatedly emphasize his keen intellect, tireless devotion to patient care, warm and caring demeanor and superlative clinical skills.
Dr. Melfords' expertise in all aspects of non-invasive imaging as well as invasive, non-interventional procedures complements his strong general cardiology knowledge and skills.
