Dinesh Kumar, MD
Dr. Kumar completed his MD degree at the University of Bombay, King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bombay, India. He completed his Internship at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and completed his Residency program at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also spent a year as a hospitalist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at University of California, Davis in Sacramento, California.
He then went on to complete his Cardiology Fellowship at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana where he also served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. Finally, his path took him to Interventional Cardiology including advanced peripheral vascular and structural cardiovascular interventions at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, New York. He held the appointment of Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia immediately prior to joining PCA.
Dr. Kumar is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Interventional Cardiology. He is also boarded in Nuclear Cardiology and is a registered physician in Vascular Interpretation. His appointments as Chief Fellow in the Division of Cardiology at Louisiana State University and as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia University are testaments to his outstanding skills as a fine communicator and teacher. In addition, he has received numerous awards and distinctions for academic and clinical excellence.
Dr. Kumar has published several articles in various cardiology publications, and participated in several abstracts/poster presentations at various cardiology-related conferences such as the ACC and SCAI.
